Could this be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome? What kind of exercise should I do to prevent developing that? I'm on a computer all day which does not help. At home my setup is fairly ergonomic friendly, but at work it's terrible. Like most companies, they are pinching every penny so changing it is not an option, so I need to simply exercise more to prevent it, just not sure what kind of exercise I should do. I do move around a lot and avoid staying in one position all day. I often get up for a break as well, whether it's to go to the bathroom get a snack, etc.

Sounds like ulnar neuropathy. That can be due to simple impingement from muscle tissue (triceps, flexor carpi ulnaris), abnormal joint stress, poor neck position, wrist mechanics, all of the above, and more. Like I said - see a doctor and request a physical therapist. It's hard to sense where exactly it is, but I'd say it's the whole arm, it's a sharp sudden pain that goes through. It's the same feeling as when you hit your funny bone.

I'm also thinking I need to stretch more.
